GOSSIPS’ TREE HOUSE
Inspired by the childhood fantasy to retreat to a safe, temporary and secretive place in a tree away from adults, this series of drawings aims to represent a young generation of people who immerses themselves into technology in a similar way. This escape to technology as blogs or social networking represents escape, and longing for a temporary hideaway, just as a child finds refuge in a tree house. Social networks foster childlike behavior, where rule-breaking and fantasy prevails.

LAS PRINCESAS DEBAJO DEL AGUA NO TIENEN OREJAS
These drawings are part of an exploration of the fantastic. These figurative fragmented drawings are part of a series that explore fantasy and the undersea world. They were inspired by a sailor I met who believed in the existence of mermaids with brightly colored scales. The drawings explore the sense of imagination wonder and the palette is evokative of undersea. Watercolor, colored pencils and markers on.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1412757708939{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text]

YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY MESSAGES BUT I STILL LOVE YOU, 2011
Inspired by how people carry their cell phones day to day as a important objects that make them connected to others through social media and as personal devices to make then feel “safe”, I create a series of drawings in which I represent human-animal figures that carry hybrid toy-cell phones.
