Curso: E-Textiles: Put on your smart slippers. Plan de Formación en Lenguas Extranjeras 2019. Comunidad de Madrid.

La Consejería de Educación e Investigación, a través de la Dirección General de Becas y Ayudas al Estudio, presentó una nueva edición del Plan de Formación en Lenguas Extranjeras para la formación de los docentes de la Comunidad de Madrid.Uno de los objetivos principales de este plan es ofrecer formación permanente al profesorado que imparte docencia en el Programa Bilingüe de la Comunidad de Madrid o tiene intención de hacerlo en el futuro.

El Plan de Formación en Lenguas Extranjeras 2019 (PFLE2019) pone al alcance de los docentes de la Comunidad de Madrid, distintas opciones de desarrollo profesional que les permitan actualizar sus conocimientos lingüísticos y metodológicos. En este marco, este verano me invitaron a impartir en inglés el curso : E-Textiles: Put on your smart slippers.

La descripción del curso es la siguiente:

This is an integrative STEAM course, during which teachers will be introduced to the basic concepts of programming, electronics and circuits and how to apply them to textile based design projects. Participants will explore ways to inspire students with STEAM activities focusing on combining crafts and technology. They will also engage in discussion regarding problem based learning, its application in the classroom and how to develop appropriate assessment methodologies. This course is designed to take teachers from being an absolute beginner in e-textiles to teachers who have the confidence to do basic e-textiles programming in order to create more adventurous projects

E-Textiles: Put on your smart slippers

Objetivos:

-To gain experience on how electronics and programming can be used in textiles to create a dynamic and engaging curriculum.
– To learn how to combine arts, crafts and technology in educational contexts. To discover how to initiate and supervise activities targeting school students on the topics digital DIY, electronic textiles and making.

Contenidos:

  1. Maker Movement in Education. Why Computing?
  2. Introduction to E-textiles
  • What are other educators doing with e-textiles?
  • How do e-textiles differ from traditional electronics education?
    Introduce basic electronic components and soft circuitry, teachers stitch a parallel circuit that includes a switch.

3. Introduction to Programming and Physical Computing

  • How can we integrate microcontrollers, physical computing, and programming to foster creativity and motivate our students?
  • Introduction to Circuit Playground Express microcontroller
  • Introduction to block programming and the concepts of Computational and Algorithmic thinking using Make Code.

Activity: Textile piano

4. Inputs and Outputs:

Introduce hands-on approach to working with LEDs, sensors and motors, using Make Code platform as a base to play and to create e-textile projects that bring ideas to life through interactivity.
