This DIY tutorials that serves as a repository for my dissertation process and a space to share my studies. The ultimate goal of the documenting this tutorials is to expand the knowledge in this field by developing a cohesive and ongoing online library of open educational resources for creative people can learn technology.

By introducing step-by-step an online tutorial I defend an innovative methodology of how non technical people can learn-it-themselves different creative methodologies to implement electronics and elements of interactivity into their projects . My hope is not only to apply these new techniques and materials to my own creative process, but also to engage all kind of people with computational thinking and electrical concepts that can help them experiment and advance in this field . Furthermore, my aim is not only to set up a library of new tools to learn new media visual arts & crafts techniques, but to also generate and explore new aesthetics possibilities and highlights the potential creative possibilities of those new materials.

Collage, from the French word coller, which means “to stick,” is a visual art that is accomplished by gluing objects to a central backing. The material used in this art form can be both original and borrowed, and the medium is limited only by the imagination of the artist. Typically, a collage incorporates mixed media. This tutorial will show how to make a collage adding electrically conductive materials and electronics.We will use copper tape and the AgIC’s circuit marker that contains silver, which makes the ink conductive, turning the paper into an electric circuit.

Creating two simple characters design  with an integrated soft circuit.

It’s necessary to know what would be the drawing like before starting adding light and electronics components to the paper. Also, it’s Important to decide ahead if the circuit will be connected in series or connected in parallel.  (In a parallel circuit, the electrical current flows along several paths, and each individual device is hooked up to its own circuit. The advantage to a parallel circuit is that if one device malfunctions, the flow of electricity will not stop, as it would in a series circuit)

Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process.  In this tutorial we will learn how to make an abstract digital artworkand include a soft circuit to make it interactive. We will use conductive thread and AgIC’s circuit markerthat contains silver, which makes the ink conductive, turning the paper into an electric circuit. Soft circuits are a new alternative way to assemble electronic circuitry using conductive thread and conductive fabrics. This tutorial will be a combination of different techniques and creative process with technology . The goal is to explore new experimental opportunities for digital art education to engage in the soft circuits field.

Contemporary embroidery reflects the craft’s rich past, with many artists using ancient approaches to express themselves, their environment, or even commercially—embroidery in illustration is gaining quickly popularity.

In this tutorial we will create a cross stitch embroidery with an integrated electronic textile ( e-textile). It’s necessary to know what would be the stiching like before starting adding light and electronics components to the fabric. Then, we will draw the across-stitch pattern and sketch the circuit on a graph paper.
