I am the author of the online resources platform PrototipadoLAB. Since 2011 I have taught and develop interdisciplinary STEAM curricula focus on E-textiles, Wearable Electronics and Paper Circuits. These courses and classes introduces masters and universities students from various creative backgrounds to learn how to use  arts & crafts techniques and alternative materials to construct aesthetic and functional computationally enhanced prototypes. The purpose of these is that students gain an understanding of new alternative  materials and examine how they determine our interactions and relationship with technology and how they can impact everyday life. Thus, that students approach fundamental concepts of design, circuitry and programming through practices where the development of artistic creativity are fostered.

The main idea is that students explore computer science and learn computational thinking, digital rapid prototyping, making and design thinking process. Also, that they understand notion of interaction and soft interface, particularly in this high-low tech context, by using raw material, and simplifying technology. The goal is that they reflect and  have an understanding of what means to make the things we use whether there are or not internet-connected and the ways we get around more sustainable.

Soy la autora de la platforma online de recursos PrototipadoLAB. Desde el año 2011 desarrollo e imparto cursos y clases vinculados con el ámbito de los E-textiles, Wearables y Paper Circuits. El fin último de éstos  radica en que estudiantes universitarios y de master examinen un espectro de novedosos materiales y procesos para construir, diseñar e implementar prototipos electrónicos, que sean a la vez estéticos y funcionales. Partiendo del proceso de “diseñar haciendo”, en estos cursos los alumnos aprenden a interconectar técnicas y materiales tradicionales con materiales inteligentes, conductores de electricidad y tecnologías abiertas.

La idea principal es que los participantes se inicien a el proceso creativo del Design Thinking, desarrollen el pensamiento computacional y conozcan  metodologías emergentes para hacer diseño de interfaces y diseño interacción. En particular, en relación al actual contexto donde la baja y alta  tecnología nos permiten utilizar todo tipo de materiales cotidianos y  aproximar de manera sencilla la tecnología. Además, que los alumnos logren un acercamiento creativo a la innovación, y adquieran un entendimiento básico sobre que es fabricar objetos  y como hacerlos mas sostenibles.
